Dull or dry skin, fine facial hair, mild texture, or anyone wanting better absorption from their skincare. Not recommended with active acne breakouts.
The science, plainly.
Your provider holds the skin taut and uses short, light strokes at an angle to lift away dead cells and vellus hair. Unlike microdermabrasion, which sands the surface with a wand, dermaplaning removes a controlled layer by hand.
Before
Pause retinoids, exfoliative products, and products with active ingredients 5–7 days beforehand.
During
Painless. You may feel light scraping.
After
Skin may be slightly pink. Apply gentle products and SPF. Makeup is fine the next day.

“Dermaplaning is simple, but technique matters. It should leave your skin smooth, never irritated.”
Questions we hear often
Will my hair grow back thicker?
No. Vellus hair grows back the same texture and color. Cutting hair does not change the follicle.
Is it the same as shaving?
Dermaplaning removes dead skin as well as hair, using a technique and blade designed for facial skin.
What are the risks?
When done by a trained provider, it is very safe. Rare risks include infection, scarring, or changes in pigment.
